Day 4

This is the fourth installment of my #FiveDayBlackandWhiteChallenge  I was nominated by +Kyra McDonald and I gladly accepted …. This is day 4 and I call it Curves

This is another oldie but goodie.  There is something about smoke photography…. not sure if it is the quite peaceful dark environment of the setup, the sudden spark of light from the flash, the quite nature of the surroundings or the smooth figures that are produced as a result.  One thing I know: I like shooting smoke… of course, in a controlled environment.

To keep the challenge going I would like to nominate +Christina Patnode  to participate in this challenge.  All you need to do is post a black and white photo (one photo a day for 5 days), nominate somebody else for the challenge each day and mention me so I can see your work. 🙂  Oh and dont forget to use the hashtag.

Participation is not obligatory so don't feel pressured to participate or to participate again if you have already done so!

Good for today, wait for another one tomorrow!!

Light on the side….. the room should be completely dark +Hope OHara … camera on manual focus, not auto. First use normal room lighting to set to focus to the smoke waves…. then turn off the lights and use the flash at the side and start  shooting away.  You will need a tripod and preferable a remote trigger (but the remote trigger is not absolutely necessary).  You should also try to prevent any spill of light onto the background 🙂
